Ganirelix is a GnRH antagonist, which plays an important role in reproduction. When Ganirelix inhibits the action of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, this leads to the suppression of luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormone activity and production. Since these two hormones affect sexual development, its suppression may lead to ovulation prevention as well as in vitro fertilization.
Since Ganirelix exercises such a powerful effect on vital hormones controlling sexual development, it’s becoming a topic of many recent scientific studies; and is surely going to command much more interest in the upcoming years.
