Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (also known as Rigin) is another synthetic peptide in Peptide.Shop’s offer, and is composed of the following amino acids:

As already mentioned, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 is a synthetic peptide, a fragment of immunoglobulin G, which presents in the sequence N-(1-oxohexadecyl)glycyl-L-glutaminyl-L-prolyl-L-arginine. Much like Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-7 can also be synthesized using two different solid-phase methodologies.
Without going into too much detail on the actual methodologies, we can say that the second one uses a soluble fragment to improve the water solubility of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-7, so that it becomes easier to purify.
What this peptide does is it decreases IL-6 secretion, reduces inflammation due to UVB exposure, stimulates laminin IV and V as well as collagen VII production.
Since its discovery, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 has undergone several research studies to determine its effectiveness in skin related conditions as well as its potential in wound healing. These studies did show this synthetic peptide can be used as a crucial skin-restoring ingredient because it soothes the skin by disrupting factors that cause irritation (such as UVB light induced one), as well as preventing skin’s loss of firmness. Essentially, it helped the skin regain firmness, which is why research is also geared towards using this peptide in wrinkle repair serums.
On the other hand, there is little to no evidence that it helps with wound healing. We still need more studies in this regard.
